Chance loved nature, he enjoyed tending to his gardens and ponds. He learned the art & science of Arbory from his father Tim Gonzales. Over time, he acquired the necessary skills and knowledge to tend to trees. He reached the mastery of a professional like his father in his mid twenties.
He grew up in the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Aspen Park, CO, where he learned about God and that through Jesus's death people's broken relationship with God is restored.
A social butterfly, Chance enjoyed getting to know people and making friends wherever he went. He connected instantly with many people and enjoyed the adventures and once in a lifetime experiences he shared with them. He unquestionably touched many hearts with his enthusiasm, his smile, and the jokes, stories, and songs he enjoyed sharing with anyone within earshot.
Chance’s vigor and relentless pursuit of adventure ranged from going to concerts with friends, to spending time in the mountains: hiking, camping, and discovering waterfalls with his best friends (of many), Lani and Lari Rupp. He enjoyed long boarding, parkouring with friends, making art and hunting for plants to add to his endless tropical plant collection.
Whatever Chance set his mind to, he achieved with fierce gusto and often left us in awe with his lens in which he viewed the world.Through Chance we are reminded to enjoy nature, take life easy and to relax and let go, to be here now–in the moment.
His hospitality in friendships and family was always humble and pure.He radiated love and warmth 24/7. His legacy reminds us of the importance of cultivating your family and friendships. Much like his love of nature, we are reminded to water and feed relationships so that they may flourish. When this was reciprocated it brought Chance the greatest joy.
Chance will be missed by his friends, family and acquaintances and of course his dog Mila, who was his pride and joy, and a great comfort and support in the final days of his trials and tribulations.
