Obituary of Paul Devore

It is with great sadness that the family of Paul Alan Devore announces his passing after battling multiple cancers, on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at the age of 74 years. One of Paul's surgeons recently told Debbie that he had never seen a more complicated health history nor a person with such a strong will to live. Paul will be lovingly remembered by Debbie, his wife of 30 years, his former wife Betsy, his sons Ken, Andrew and Wes, Debbie's youngest brother John who Paul called his fourth son, his grandson Adam and his brothers Larry and Gene. Born on February 9, 1945 in Boston, Massachusetts, Paul graduated from Northeastern University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He excelled in the optical business becoming National Sales Manager of Society Optics in 1973 which included a cross-country relocation to Southern California. At Society Optics he oversaw 7 regional managers and traveled the world. In 1986, Paul joined the Viva International Group as their senior vice president of sales. He thoroughly enjoyed working for Viva and felt a part of their success when the company reached $300,000,000 in sales over a short period of time. In 1987 Paul and Debbie signed a North American franchise agreement with Second Nature Ltd., a London based greeting card company specializing in a broad range of innovative European cards. They built a new company in North America into a 120-person marketing and sales organization over a ten-year period. Paul then retired in the year 2000. He was the treasurer of Almost Vegan Cooking School, a non-profit organization founded by Debbie and dedicated to education of plant-based foods. Paul was a dedicated family man with an incredible sense of humor. He found joy through supporting his family achieve their dreams in life. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 23 at 2:30 PM at Mt. Nebo Memorial Park. The address is 11701 E. 13th Avenue, Aurora, CO 80010.
