Obituary of Richard Silage
Richard George Silage, age 80, passed away in Denver, Colorado, surrounded by his family on April 20, 2019. He leaves his wife of 52 years, Ruth, his daughter, Jennie (Tim) Fuhrer, his son, Alex (Ana) Silage and his granddaughter, Samantha. Born and raised in New York to George and Margaret (Varga) Silage, Dick spent his childhood in the City and on the beaches of Long Island. He graduated from Hofstra University in 1964. Dick married Ruth Goldenberg on June 10, 1966 and they had a daughter and grew their family through adoption. He worked most of his life with Peat Marwick, transferring to Denver in 1982. He worked in computers and always had an affinity for gadgets, beginning when he built a robot as a boy in New York, to the amazement of neighbors. Friends and family always enjoyed Dick’s quick wit, cantankerous sense of humor and attention to detail, especially when building sandwiches and tacos. The Silage family would like to extend gratitude to all the staff and volunteers at Porter Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dick Silage’s name to Porter Hospice. A graveside service will be held at 1:00PM, Thursday, April 25, 2019, Golden Hill Cemetery, 12000 West Colfax Avenue.
