I got to know Fred back in the early 1980's thru the Optimist Club. He belonged to several other service organizations & invited me to them....He went to a different meeting every morning....& brought his good humor & smile to each of them....
...I later ran across him at BMH Synagogue ...He was always easy to spot at Synagogue because his Tallit had a bright orange Bronco Logo on the back....& his Porsche speedster had the Bronco logo on the doors.... What a fine man ....

It would be a cliche to say we will miss Fred's optimism! This is the time of the year he would deliver his Bronco's report to the "Gateway Optimist Club". Fred would aver in no uncertain terms why the Bronco's were going back to the Superbowl and his confidence in them winning the big game! Fred's pragmatism was very refreshing, matched only by his great generosity when there were people in need somewhere in the world due to some calamity. Goodbye Fred, we know you will be watching the Broncos from the other side.

To know Freddie was to know positive. Freddie impacted me, a baby Optimist He impacted many others over the course of the past decades. Freddie was more than an individual. Freddie was one of the leaders of a community. He was a leader in Monaco South. He was a leader in his faith community. I am very much the better for having been touched by both communities. I give my personal and Optimist wishes to the family, the faith and the Optimist communities.

So sorry to read in this morning's paper about Fred. I haven't seen him for years, but he was very much a part of my family's history. My parents married at Pauline and Sam's house in 1942. Wish I could join you at his service. Let me know if you'd like the photographs that have been kept safe all these years in my mom's scrapbook.
Warmly,
Judy Paley

These are the units the measure the worth of a man, as a man., Regardless of birth.
