Obituary of Barbara Burstein
Barbara Wolberg Burstein, 88, of Denver, Colorado passed away peacefully on August 7, 2014.
Barbara was born in Kansas City, Missouri, January 15, 1926 to Edward and Norma Wolberg.
Barbara was a graduate of Paseo Highschool and earned a degree in Social Work from the University of Missouri. In 1947 she married Irwin Burstein, shortly after they wed they moved and made Denver their home. They were married 63 years until his death in 2010.
Barbara worked as a legal secretary and para-legal. She served as a docent at the Nature and Science Museum and was active in the Sisterhood at Temple Emanuel. She loved dancing to Frank Sinatra and big band music, was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles and was an excellent scrabble player.
Barbara was a loving and devoted wife, mother and friend. She was the epitome of a lady and loved to entertain. She was the consummate hostess, always putting the needs of others before her own, in all phases of her life. Barbara was thoughtful, generous, warm and sweet. To know her was to love her, and those of us who were fortunate enough to have her in our lives will never forget her.
Barbara was predeceased by her son Neal Burstein in 2004. She is survived by her brother Ronald Wolberg, Walnut Creek, California, grandchildren Benjamin and Elizabeth Claire Burstein, nieces Fran Emmer and Laura Emmer, Kansas City, other nieces and nephews and many cousins.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, August 10 at noon at Rosehill Cemetary.
