The thoughts are so heavy and sad today for everyone, but I wanted to share just a little about the fun times when I met Muri and after she and my brother first got married.
There were a couple of funny times when they came home to West 26th Avenue after a frat activity or something and both were a little bit drunk and much surprised to find HJ Sigman still up and in his shorty pajamas. They were all terribly embarrassed as it was before any or us knew her very well at all.
But what puts a large grin on my face still is that I remember when Siggie was studying for his CPA exam and Muri was working at Bosworth Sullivan downtown on 17th St. I had just turned 16 and I got to drive downtown every day and pick her up. I was feeling tall and strong driving the old '57 Chevy up to pick up this "super hot chick". All the heads turned as she strolled out to get in the car. Of course, I didn't have enough sense or class to get out and open the door for her, but I didn't know any better. I felt so privileged to be picking up this beautiful girl (woman) and I just knew all the businessmen were watching us and of course envying me as we sped off.
These were the thoughts of an immature teenager in the early 60's. I did get the opportunity one time to tell her about this many years ago and we both had a good laugh at the time! I will remember that smile on her face for a long time to come.
